About This Project

Cape Breton Regional Library’s Nature Backpacks program is designed to inspire people to experience nature through hands-on exploration. Each backpack has a theme and contains equipment, guides and gadgets to help develop new outdoor skills. The themes include birdwatching, at the beach, in the forest, insects, and more. Kits can be rented for free with a library card, and most activities can be done in your own backyard or in local parks or trails.
